Conference theme
Since ENHR was last in Scotland 20 years ago, much has changed. Scotland has regained its own Parliament and has adopted the strongest legal framework for homeless people in the world. In September 2014 Scotland will hold a referendum on independence – sparking a debate that is central to the theme of the conference: Beyond Globalisation: remaking housing policy in a complex world.
Plenaries
For the first time the conference plenaries are genuinely interdisciplinary in approach and are organised around the themes of people, place, money, and home. Confirmed speakers include:
· Catherine Paquete, expert on Latin American housing
· Katrin Grossman, specialist on regeneration
· Leonard Seabrooke, co-author of Varieties of Residential Capitalism
· David Miles, member of the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee
· Volker Busch-Geertsema and Beth Watts, homelessness experts
· Irene Cieraad, anthropologist and specialist in architectural design.
Fieldtrips
Planned fieldtrips include:
· Architectural tour of Edinburgh’s Old and New Towns
· Regeneration in Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city
· New Lanark mill village and World Heritage Site
- Culture Led Regeneration in Dundee
· “Regeneration Back from the Edge” – peripheral Edinburgh by canal
Workshops
As usual, ENHR offers more than 20 specialist workshops, so your paper will be discussed by experts in your field.
New Researchers’ Colloquium (30 June and 1 July)
The main conference is preceded by the New Researchers’ Colloquium which gives PhD students and early career researchers the opportunity to present full papers, outline methods, or work in progress in a supportive environment and to receive feedback from mentors. The Colloquium will include special sessions tailored to new housing researchers, including a session on early career publication strategies.

Our social programme includes a reception at the National Museum of Scotland and the Conference Dinner at Dynamic Earth.

Fees
Registration fees are:
· ENHR Members: £300 until 30 April (£375 from 1 May)
· Non ENHR Members: £370 until 30 April (£460 from 1 May)
- Discounted fee for ENHR Members in Group 2: £225 until 30 April (£280 from 1 May)
· Student fee: £150 until 30 April (£180 from 1 May)
· Accompanying person: £120 until 30 April (£150 from 1 May)
